Sailing Away

There is so much beauty in the world. I try to remind myself to be open, compassionate, and kind every day. We don’t know anyone else’s story. People are complex and have lived through things we will never understand. It’s important to remember that.

A public piano was installed, and then a homeless man sat down to play.

Thankful Everyday – The Twenty-Fifth

25.  I am thankful for poetry.  e.e. cummings, pablo neruda, w.h. auden, william carlos williams, sylvia plath, h.d., charles bukowski, poe, whitman, longfellow, yeats, thoreau, tennyson, shakespeare, frost, dickinson and on and on.  I’ve spent hours enjoying beautiful words written by amazing minds and hours trying to write my own words.  These words have enriched my life, helped me to better make sense of my world, and given me deeper understanding of life as I know it.

To See or Not to See

This is an amazing story about beauty, perception, art, and what we see, or don’t see, as we go about our daily lives. Do you stop and notice, enjoy, live in the moment with something beautiful or do you walk past without a glance, without a thought for what’s happening right in front of you. What would you do?

Just to show how big these two were I thought I’d include this photo of them with some unknown guy. Thanks unknown guy for providing perspective. You rock.

We had to. After all, it’s us. What’s a trip without a foot shot or two.

We continued to walk along the water toward the wharf after leaving the Palace of Fine Arts and passing Fort Mason. We spotted this guy laying around near the old Maritime Museum and Aquatic Park. Sweet spot really… the Maritime Museum is shaped like an old ocean liner. The Aquatic Park still has a bay swimming course. There were people actually swimming it, in wet suits, as we walked past. Hardy souls to be sure. Loved this sculpture. Random.

I donated three photographs to the auction hoping to get them some cash. They ended up going for about $170 total. Not bad. Please ignore the creepy reflection of the woman in picture one, looking from left to right. I don’t know her.
