I’ve heard through the grapevine that people are wanting to see recent photos of the addition. So without further ado… here are some recent photos of the addition.
We just got the insulation done and favorably inspected today (no photos of that… sorry). Tomorrow the sheet rock starts to go up. Next Tuesday… windows. Yes, it’s almost a room. Woo hoo.

This was pretty cool. The roots of this tree were pretty exposed. Must have been some pretty high tides at times affecting the river. Made for some funky shots.

Back at Mom and Don’s place, where we were a couple of times this month, here is a photo of the enormous chimes they have in their yard. They bought the chimes, then had to build this beautiful wood structure to hold them. Pretty cool… they rock.

Flashing back to Sunday…. Karen started building our adirondack table. This is it, in the beginning. You get the idea. It’s going to be very cool. I’m excited. She’s doing a fantastic job building it. She’s loving using our new compound miter saw, with stand. LOL I had to add the with stand part, it said that on the box.

Monday, during our drive up and around parts of Vancouver Island North of Victoria, we stopped briefly at a beach who’s name I can’t remember. It was pretty cool actually. Hardly anyone on it. Loads of stakes out attached to what we imaged to be some sort of lobster pots, or shrimp pots, or crab pots… who knows for sure. We never saw the pots, only the stakes and the line. There was also some awesome driftwood lying around and a great selection of rocks on the beach. We took pictures of the driftwood and brought some of the rocks home.

The theme for this week’s photo hunt is twist(ed). I was looking through some of my photos and came across this one conveniently titled, Twisted. I thought… why not. I took this one in Cathedral Park, Portland, Oregon near the St. Johns Bridge. There are amazing pieces of driftwood on the shore along the Columbia River. Pretty cool looking.

Lastly, from our walk in Cathedral Park yesterday with Weston, a picture of a really nice piece of driftwood. The driftwood on the beaches at the park is amazing. Just huge and tons of it. Really interesting looking.
