This bird kept looking down at the water. So fun to just watch it. We were worried it would consider the dogs as prey. After all, they are small enough to be an option for it. They must have been too camp nasty to look tasty.

These little dudes were both torment and entertainment for the pups during the camping trip. Two encampments, two to three feet from each other. One chipmunk would pop it’s head out, scouting, he’d waive his little claw or paw or whatever you call it and then yell… run! There’d then be this rush of feet and fur scampering from one encampment to the other. Back and forth this went on. Day after day. They’re in the fox hole in this shot, getting ready for their next move.

After the wedding last weekend we packed up the truck, jumped in with the pups, and drove south and east to Davis Lake for the annual family camping trip. Loads of visitors dropped by, including this beauty.

Hard to see them really, and man was I wishing for a better telephoto lens, but there’s a bald eagle in this shot, among other birds. One, I think, might be another eagle.
