It’s Monday… I rolled over in bed this morning and what did I see? I saw Weston, in his usual spot between us, snuggled under the blanket, head sticking out and on Karen’s pillow. Weston, if you haven’t guessed, is our dog. Or, to be more precise, we are Weston’s people. He looked over at me as if to say, don’t even think about it. Do NOT get up from this bed. I don’t like it, I want to sleep more. I hate Mondays. I told him I hated Mondays too.
It’s not because, my hating Mondays I mean, I have to go to work. I actually don’t mind my job, though sleeping in is also good. It’s mostly because I have to be here. It’s like the universe telling me what to do and I don’t like being told what to do. What can I say, I’m stubborn like that. It’s also because I hate having to wake up to an alarm. And again I’ll say I know, it’s the me hating people, or in this case the work gods, telling me what to do. I think there’s a theme here. Hmmmm…
So, there was Weston, looking at me with the same expression I’d have given him if I could, if he understood. I think he does anyway. Unfortunately we both had to get up. He had to have his collar put back on (he gets to sleep naked at night… meaning that he sleeps sans collar… we make a big deal of it, tell him that it’s time to get naked, etc…. it’s hilarious actually) and be taken outside for his morning constitution and I had to drag my butt up to get ready for work. Uhg. Sleeping in is so much more enjoyable and relaxing…
Now, here I am, working….
The weekend was good… we got the car serviced, returned a gps, bought another gps, bought some shorts (some would say we have enough of those, but can a person really have too many pair of big boy shorts? I think not… ), went to a couple of farmer’s markets, bought some plants, planted them, watched some movies, played ball with Weston in the yard, picked friends up who flew home on Sunday, went to breakfast at Fat City Cafe, located in Multnomah Village, with said friends, dropped off the same friends at their abode, and enjoyed some quiet time at home. It was, as always, a great and full weekend.
Even if, today, Weston and I did have to get up….
