This place, in Golden Gate Park, is pretty cool. We didn’t go inside… to hot for a tropical tour… even still, cool building.

I took this one when I stopped at a park to have some lunch. It was raining so hard. Very cool.

This building used to be the exchange, and is now The Royal Exchange Theatre. It’s very cool. The theater is built inside the older building. Sort of a building within a building. We went to see Shakespeare’s Henry V here this evening. It’s theater in the round, tiered, and very cozy so our seats, third row up from the stage, were excellent. I have to say… Shakespeare, in England, performed by English actors… really terrific.
Our night at the theatre followed a lovely few hours wandering around downtown Manchester getting the tour. Martin lived in Manchester for 9 years, so he knows the city well. We hit the highlights, including the Town Hall, the statue of Abe Lincoln, gay town, Exchange Square, Manchester Cathedral, a nice pub (where Martin used to hang out during his university days) for a pint and visit with Martin’s friend, Paul, who met us there.
It was, as everything has been to this point, a very very nice day. Tomorrow I think we’re going to head to Morecombe, the town just west of Lancaster that’s on the sea. We hear there will be some great picture taking opportunities so look for some additions here again tomorrow evening.
