Another Episode of Friday Adventures

Here we are folks, another edition of the Kam (our celebrity combo name given to us by our good friend Sandy) Friday adventures.

Today finds our adventurers enjoying a tasty lunch of soup, lettuce wraps, and spare ribs at PF Changs. Yum. If you haven’t been to PF Changs or had their lettuce wraps you are missing out. SO good. We went outside the box today, in keeping with doing something new, by ordering soup. Karen had hot and sour and I had the traditional egg drop. Best egg drop I’ve ever had. Really deep flavor.

Next is a walk over to Sur La Table for a few kitchen items and then who knows what. We are downtown, it’s beautiful out, and we don’t have to be anywhere until 6:45 tonight. We can get into some good mischief between now and then.

I said I would blog about the wedding and here we go….

The morning of we had all the bridesmaids, the bride, Karen and I, and Jay all in our condo. It was a full house, but totally fun. Jay wandered to get bagels (which to that point had been Martin’s job every other day or so) and as the girls got their dresses and bridesmaid accoutrement together we all managed to fit in a tad bite of breakfast… and coffee.

Terri cut up the bird. She did a fine job. I do have to say my honey assisted by forking. It’s an important job… forking. Shouldn’t ever be underestimated.

Not exactly the most clear photo, but I had to include it here. I took this one with the iphone in a darker room. ah well… it still captured the essence of the night. Sushi, with friends. We met up with the pod (there are eight of us all together) to help celebrate and send off two of our friends on their trip to Peru. We met the night of October 30. They left early October 31. So far, according to the Facebook updates anyway, they look like they are having a spectacular time. Can’t wait to see the photos when they get back.

October 27 Karen, Kev, and I traveled to Mom and Don’s place to do our annual celebration. It always includes three things… candles to commemorate the year, brownies, and mocha almond fudge ice cream (because it’s Mom’s favorite). What are we celebrating? We are celebrating Mom. Mom’s determination, grace, sense of humor, her absolute unwillingness to give in to feeling down or letting something get the best of her. That’s Mom. Fantastic, amazing, and continuing to go about life in a strong and loving way. I love you Mom. I love you.

I bid on the jar of peanut butter cookies that’s behind this jar of snickerdoodle cookies. I didn’t win. I did raise the bid though by continuing to bid up for a time. At least I can feel good about getting them more money. Even if I didn’t get to enjoy these tasty looking treats.

On September 12 we went to a fund raising dinner and auction. Mary and Martin went with us. This is the hand of the woman who is the director of the facility the fund raiser was for. Her cup said confident. I think that’s fitting.

Went to VooDoo donut tonight to help Kate celebrate her recent educational victory. Hooray Kate! Lovely, as always, hanging out with a stellar group of ladies. Also fantastic… the sugary goodness found behind this door. I enjoyed, as did many of us, the Elvis. It’s a maple bar with a couple of slices of crisp bacon on top. Yum. I also had a maple glazed creme filled donut. Yes, I had two all together. Don’t judge. I was helping to celebrate. It definitely warranted two donuts and one small cup o’ good joe.  Tasty.
