Looking out from the deck at Stan and Connie’s place. A great place to have dinner, if you can get reservations.

Gangway, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
Since I was so late in posting last week’s photo, scroll down and you’ll see that it’s there, I wanted to get a jump on it this week.
The theme for the week is Metal. I took this one near the end of the year last year. This gangway is fairly new and goes down to the public docks on the Columbia River. It was sunset and the pink in the sky and reflected in the water was lovely. It made a nice contrast to the metal of the gangway.

Lastly, from our walk in Cathedral Park yesterday with Weston, a picture of a really nice piece of driftwood. The driftwood on the beaches at the park is amazing. Just huge and tons of it. Really interesting looking.
Carts, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
These were pushed over the bank and lying next to the river. There were actually a few of them. Not sure why, or even how they got there, but they make for interesting discarded urban art, if you choose to look at it that way. I’m sure there are loads of stories behind these. It’d be nice to hear one or two.
NYK, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
We’ve had a pretty good weekend. The weather’s been absolutely beautiful, Kert started working on our rental house (thanks Kert), we cleaned up a bit around our house, we took the boy for a nice walk yesterday, bought ice cream cones, and we’ve had some time to just relax and be at home. Everything a person could want from a weekend with the exception of having a longer weekend.
Right now we’re watching the Academy Awards (loved the song Falling Slowly from the movie Once), the boy is chewing contentedly on his bully stick, and it’s still not even eight o’clock. Right on. And again I’ll say… life is good.
Go Fly a Kite, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
These guys were flying their kites in a huge parking lot on the Columbia River. Great wind. Besides just flying them they were riding on skateboards while flying them, causing them to shoot across the lot, sometimes at pretty good speeds. Looked like fun!

The Mountain in Pink, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.Today we headed over near the airport, once again, to take some shots at sunset. The mountain was lovely.

I like this picture… gives me a feeling of calm.

This is my slightly late entry for the photo hunt this week. The light out was beautiful when I took this shot. I love this time of year… the air crisp, the shadows long, and the light soft.

The sky was filled with pink this evening. What can I say, it was absolutely beautiful.

This one I shot yesterday. Nice shadows and light. The river looked so calm yesterday, like it wasn’t moving at all.
