Nothing quite hits the spot on a warm day like shaved ice. Mississippi Pizza was offering shaved iced out front of the shop yesterday during the street fair. Yum. This was Brian’s selection. Cool eh? Uh… pun intended.

The theme for this week’s Photo Hunt is purple. I remembered that I’d taken a few shots during the fall of 2007 that might fit the bill and when I looked I discovered this one. Then I realized I’d posted it here at the Think Tank before. Ah well… I like it, so it’s getting used again, but I realize it’s a re-posting party foul. What’s a girl to do?

OK, I admit it… I messed around with the color of this one. Couldn’t help myself. I ended up liking it though. I don’t much tweak my photographs, but once in awhile it’s fun to just play. The modern day dark room.

It was so lovely walking yesterday. Afterward we went to Maggie’s for a lovely dinner and a viewing of the movie Mama Mia. If you haven’t seen it, do. It was one of those feel good films. All fun. Oh, and dinner was especially tasty as well. Thanks Maggie. You rock.

The leaves are almost done changing and they’ve mostly come down. I took this shot of our favorite tree in our yard. This thing is absolutely gorgeous during the change. Spectacular.

Sunday, the last day, I woke up earlier than I had been and was able to catch the sunrise and the mist out over the lake. It was quiet, and absolutely stunning.

Our last evening brought us a fantastic dinner of ribs cooked over a fire, cowboy beans heated up on the camp stove, and a beautiful sunset.
My nephew sent me an e-mail recently that contained a few pictures of the work of Julian Beever. This guy is amazing. I’ll include a couple of the photos Nick sent to me, but if you’re really interested click on the link above or google the guy. If you do, I promise, you’ll be amazed.
