OK, I’m not really sure if this guys name is really Lumber Jack, but if it’s not, it should be. My thoughts… I want his job. Anonymous and really silly… sounds like a gig for me.

Coast Radio dot org picked one of my photos, yet again, as their photo of the day. How cool is that? I get so pumped when this happens. No money, no fame… just a very cool feeling that someone liked one of my shots. Most excellent!
The Ball, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.I just love this shot. So much so I posted it here and also at image – ination as my photo of the day, number 301.
Piling Up, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
Well… it’s snowing. Again. All day. It’s been coming down since some time before 7:00 this morning. Non stop. Snowing.
We had plans. We did. We needed to run errands. Go to get some stuff for the rental. Start working on it. Meet our electrician over there. Meet some friends who were going to help us do a bit of work on it. Put up some blinds… that sort of thing. Only, we can’t. We had to call everyone and say… sorry. We can’t get down our driveway. We can’t get out. And what’s more, even if we did get out, we wouldn’t be able to get back up our hill. The perils of living in the forest up on a hill. It’s beautiful, but not so easy to navigate when the weather’s like this.
Ah well, since I took this photo it’s snowed at least another couple of inches. I took this the first time I went out this morning to tromp around. It’s required isn’t it? Tromping around in the snow? Yes, I think it is. Anyway… my point is this, I took this probably 5 hours ago. Now, when I look outside, it resembles an odd looking ice cream cone even more than it did then, in this picture. It’s really piling up out there.

This shot was taken while I was standing under one of our big evergreens in the yard. This was a few hours ago. I’d say a couple more inches have fallen since then.

So far about 2 inches out there, but it’s snowing again and weather reports say it may continue on and off all day into tomorrow morning. Who knows how much we’ll get… all i know for now… it’s cold, snowy, and continuing to accumulate.

Back to the snow pictures of this morning. And in fact, it’s snowing again out there this morning. So lovely, the snow coming down at the same time there’s a shaft of sunlight coming through the trees across the road. Very beautiful combination.

Ice Covered, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.Ice… everywhere, covering everything.
I thought I’d include a couple of shots I took yesterday, before the snow. We had freezing rain on Saturday and the ice didn’t really melt. This time of year we don’t get much sun at our place. Our house is in this little valley… hills and tall trees all around. Where our house is situated the sun barely makes it over the trees. We get about an hour a day now, an hour we’re grateful for. Other than that hour, it’s fairly dark, dark and cold. Because of this coldish phenomena things don’t warm up much and when we get snow and ice it takes a long time to melt.
After The Snow, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
We woke up this morning to a couple of inches of snow on the ground. The snow came on top of a layer of ice we already had. It’s been cold here lately. Below freezing for the last few days. At least, below freezing at our place. We are, as I mentioned in an earlier post, up above that magic 500 ft. level. That place where they are saying, today, that we’ll get snow while everyone at a lower elevation will get rain. And in fact we have, in the last hour, gotten more snow. It’s beautiful really. The snow comes in, it clears and the sun comes out with that beautiful winter blue sky, and then the clouds move in again and we get a bit more snow. It’s going to be a quietly beautiful day.
