The canal runs through the town and for miles beyond. It’s a significant waterway and is used by a large population of people who live on their boats. The walk along the canal is lovely and the boats that pass are way cool.
This week’s theme… Heavy. Once again I had to look around through the old photo archives to come up with what I thought was an interesting entry for the week. This picture was taken at the Panama Canal in 2007. Some of the ships that pass through are so big and heavy they have to be guided through using small trains on each side as well as a tug boat behind. It’s a fascinating process. This ship was huge.

This is Mary and Martin’s favorite bridge along the canal. The effect of the reflection with the bridge and the path is excellent.

This is the spot we went for a beer this evening. Great beer. It was a fairly dark ale (I asked for their darkest) called Hard Willie. It was possibly the best ale I’ve had.
