We went to Mom and Don’s last weekend to help them paint their house and their re-siding job looks fantastic by the way. This is Weston taking a break from painting.
Actually, Kev came by with his paint sprayer and finished the rest of the house in the same time it took us to do one little section. Paint sprayers… a plus in my book.

As you can see, my brother, K, has the chuck it in his hand and Weston has just returned from running after the ball that was thrown with the chuck it. He’s a happy guy…. uh, Weston that is, though K is probably happy too. It’s pretty fun playing with our little man, he’s got tons of personality.

This is Weston’s favorite ball, at the moment. It changes, sometime daily. But more often than not, this is the one he wants us to throw. It’s the ball that came with the chuck it. He loves the chuck it.

This pretty much sums up Weston’s weekend. He had a great time. He loves weekends. Why? Because usually he gets to be with both of us all day, all the time. It makes him happy. Here he is being happy on the chaise on our front deck. We recently got an umbrella so it’s not as hot sitting out there. He loves to run and chase a ball, then bring it back up onto the chaise where he sets it down and then revels in his victory. This is him reveling.

Karen took this photo today. Weston was taking a nap. Why the old sheet on the chair? Weston likes, or liked, to chew on the chair cushions. He doesn’t do it very often any more, but if he sees the hole he already made he can’t help himself. This chair is his favorite place to take naps. He can see the whole living room and bonus, he also has a view out of the windows from there so he can see the yard. He loves that. The sheet isn’t very attractive, but it keeps him from really chewing up the rest of the cushion.

Weston loves the beach… soft sand, lots to sniff, and freedom to run. He was on his lead in this photo, but actually got to be off it a few times to which he said woo whoooo. And yeah, I’m sure that’s what he said….

Weston was quite the rock climber during this trek. Poor guy, he had to be on his leash on the Juan de Fuca trail, but he was a trooper and did amazingly well.

Sunday we had to forgo going kayaking to finish up at the rental so our renter could start moving in Sunday afternoon/evening. She’d called and asked if she could start moving in a little earlier than we’d initially discussed. We decided we’d rather go ahead and get it all done and over with, so we hunkered down and got those little last minute things done at the rental Sunday morning. She showed up at 2:30, we did the walk through, signed the rental agreement, she measured some areas of the house, and we left her with the keys, a note of welcome from us, and a housewarming gift of a bottle of red wine. After seeing the wine and the note her comment to us was… you guys rock as landlords. Hopefully she still feels that way in a few months time.
All I know for sure is… we are done. Finished. The work is through! Three months of working on the place and we’re now free!! At least, we’re free of the frequent trips over there, having our weekends full all the time, and neglecting our own house. Whoo Hoo!!
Oh, and this shot… this was Weston Sunday morning in the Starbucks drive-thru waiting for his whipped cream. We get chai and he occasionally gets whipped cream. He did on Sunday. He’s spoiled. What can we say.

OK, so this week’s theme for the hunt is anything. We’re currently staying on the Oregon coast for a few days. A little mini holiday of sorts. I took this picture this morning when we took the boy down to the beach to run off leash. It was pretty early and no one else, except for a father and son, were down there. The little mister had a spectacular time, as you can tell.

Weston didn’t get to go everywhere with us this last weekend, but he did get to go to Saturday Market with us. He loves it there. Loads of dogs to meet, so many people to pet him, and then he usually gets carried for awhile which he likes very much. We bought him a new bed at the market and he’s enjoyed it a lot today.

Yesterday we had a great day hanging out at home. We were busy, really busy, the day before, so just hanging out and being together as a little family was wonderful. Here’s the little man enjoying his day at home. We took his collar off so he could be naked. It gives him a break from having to wear it. Thanks, Mary, for the idea. I think he likes it.

Today is Weston’s first birthday. We celebrated by taking him to the natural pet store and buying him bully stix, some fancy treats, and a new toy, a stuffed hedgehog, that he picked out himself. All in all I’d say it was a good first birthday for him.

We did a little Christmas shopping yesterday at Saturday Market. It was a bit chilly so Weston cuddled up and stayed warm inside Karen’s coat. Luckily he’s not a big guy, that would’ve been awkward.
