The Journey
I just read the title for this page and thought to myself… self.. hell… that sounds like I’m going to throw out a whole lot of psychological insight. So at this juncture let me just say… that ain’t so. What I’m talking about here is my journey down the blogging road… which goes like this…
First off, I have to admit, WordPress isn’t the first home to my blog. Initially, back in 2005, I started on Livejournal. I was there for a brief time, and then moved to blogger. I was with blogger for quite awhile actually, except for that brief horrifying experiment with Yahoo 360, until, finally, I came to my senses and made my way to WordPress, where I think I’ve finally found a permanent home. It’s been a long journey.
Every time I picked up and moved I packed up all my goodies and brought them with. Let me tell ya, each time I moved it involved yet more cutting and pasting. It was harrowing. I think I actually might have contracted carpel tunnel syndrome from all the wrist action… alright… OK… maybe not, but I did have to ice down a couple of times. What a girl won’t do for her “art”, or at least to cure the restless urge to write.
So here I am, happily ensconced at WordPress. Finally, I think, I am actually able to put the moving van away… because, well… I kinda like it here.
Now, having said all that, I guess I will throw out a little psychological insight. I know, just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water… Anyway, here it is… I guess I started blogging initially because I wanted a place to stretch my voice. I wanted a venue for putting myself and my words out there. Having a blog seemed like a good way to do it. What I didn’t realize was that what I had to say would be interesting to my friends and family, and what’s more, to people I didn’t even know. I also found that I not only like writing my blog, I like reading what other people have to say on theirs.
So, that’s my two cents…. the why and how of my ending up here, blogging at wordpress… thanks for reading…

An interesting story. I like Blogger (not tried WordPress) but I’ve not been at this long. OH has tried most, including his own domains, but there’s usually something to irritate. Suppose wherever you feel most at home is home.
My thoughts exactly…. it’s good wherever you feel it is. A personal thing really. Who knows, some day I might switch again. For now, I like it here.
