Nurse Ratchet is Gone
This place is really quite amazing. The staff… Stellar. My cast of characters has been varied and impressive. Here are a few of them…
Water fighting bow tie wearing nerdy Doctor Bigler.
Relaxed and calm Dr. Trubowitz.
Colleen (the first person who really started to explain everything), Brenda, Meg (the fiesty short one who’s been here forever and really is the one who told us so much about this whole thing in a really wonderful way), Ivy (who looked at some of my photographs and loved them, wanting one of my Chicago shots (she’s from that area), and Ann… Amazing oncology nurses who have all taken the time to educate and care for me in such a human way.
Marilyn (who enjoyed a piece of Stacia’s pecan pie), Nate, Rebekah (she who gave me the Luna Bar and told me all about her life), Georgia and Georgina…. Amazing CNA’s getting me water, taking my vitals, being chatty and cheery and so very human.
Social worker, cancer counselor, nutritionist, IV nurses, X-Ray techs, nuclear heart test techs, the people who clean the room, the people who bring my food, and the smiling faces of all the other nurses and CNAs and secretaries, and other people who work on this floor that I pass when I’m out for a walk.
