This place, in Golden Gate Park, is pretty cool. We didn’t go inside… to hot for a tropical tour… even still, cool building.

Where’s Sandy… SF Edition

So we have a new game, when we go places or travel, with Sandy. The new game… Where is Sandy?

I’m to page 36, working my way backwards to one, of my Flickr pages. I started at 57 yesterday. Don’t worry I won’t be posting everything. Just stuff I think people will find interesting. And, of course, just stuff I find interesting.
. Man, I really need to do a better job of keeping up with our lives. This has gotten WAY out of hand. Hang in there with me, it’s going to be a semi long and sometimes bumpy ride.

Laughing Sal

She laughs… a lot. It’s a tad disturbing, but she’s famous. So, there you go.

Musee Mecanique

We had to wander into this place to check it out. Once we did… it was on! Ms. Pacman and Galaga. I won one, Sandy the other. Close, both games. There were some pretty cool things in this building. Free to get in and totally worth it. They have restored many old and original coin operated games, etc. You can get a glimpse of a coin operated peep show (totally G rated) and gawk at the enormous laughing Sal. It’s worth a look and few cents…

Sweeping Scope

There’s a sub for viewing, with a little history lesson, down on the wharf. We looked, we read, and we wondered… why is there a broom up there?

Breaking Bread With Earl

Our first dinner stop… Boudin’s. Great bread and really good food all around. Plus, a nice view of the bay. Can’t go wrong there.

We didn’t venture out to it this time around, but it’s impressive just looking out at it.

The lesser popular Bay Bridge. If you ask me, it’s still kinda cool.

Wedding

We strolled around the city a lot over two and a half days. I loved this shot. Cool glass building, cool display, nice reflection of the other building in the shot. Pretty awesome.

Nike Wall of Names

Our friend’s name was on this wall. Took us a while to find it, but finally, there it was. Pretty cool.

Nike Women’s Marathon
Originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl
One of the reasons we went to San Francisco, and what really started our trip planning process in the first place, was that one of our friends had been picked, by lottery, to walk in the Nike Women’s Marathon. 13 miles… impressive. We went to Union Square with her so she could pick up her race stuff. What a crazy scene that was. Tons of people wandering around, in lines, getting free samples of chocolate and some strangely cardboard like cereal. Quite the zoo-ish atmosphere.

We did, as always, really enjoy our time with Karen’s family. Cathy and Clem, thanks for putting us up while we were there. And Don and Betty, thanks for making a couple of great dinners. You all always make us, and especially me, feel so welcome and a part of the family. I love you guys..

This one is posted out of order. We had pretty decent flights down south and back. Small jets both ways, commuter types, but OK none the less.

We took BART from San Jose to San Francisco and back again. LOVED it. We are total fans of mass transit, in whatever form it comes. Once we got to San Francisco we bought a three day pass and ended riding on buses, streetcars, and a cable car. Pretty cool, and pretty efficient.

We got back recently from a trip to both see Karen’s family in San Jose and meet friends for the weekend in San Francisco. This was me playing around with a new app for my iPhone. Yes, there was an app for that.
