OK, I know it’s late to get started with this, but I’ve had a bit of trouble uploading my photos since we got to England. Bummer. Here it is… 1:37 in the morning, Tuesday (that would be 5:37 PM, Monday, for all of you back at home) and I’m just getting to my first post. There will be more. I promise.
We took off, as planned and scheduled, from Portland on time last Thursday. We got into Amsterdam a bit late, making our time between flights pretty short. We had to move quickly to make our connection in fact and never even had time to check out any of the airport, including the restrooms. We did, however, make our flight. Which was good. We landed in London on time, met the kids, grabbed the tube, and got to our hotel to drop our bags with the concierge before heading to the Globe for Romeo and Juliet (there will be more about all of this in some posts tomorrow, including photos). Our time in London was really nice. As was our ride to Nottingham on the train, our afternoon with Martin’s parents there, and our subsequent car ride to Lancaster yesterday. Today we’ve been hanging out, grocery shopping, and Karen and I took a little walk about into town to get coffee/chai and a pasty.
The photo here, before I close this, was taken in the sky over Greenland. Beautiful sunset, amazing landscape below.
As I said… more details tomorrow. For now… bed time. It’s late.
