Shasta, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
A photo taken during our road trip to San Jose. Had to throw this and a couple others in. Just now got them uploaded, etc. What can I say… I’m a bit slow.

Here I am… Working again. Driving behind log trucks running around
in the boonies.
Ship Graveyard, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
Karen took this great photo while we drove past the ship graveyard near Sacramento during our California road trip adventure. Pretty cool.
Back At Work, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
Here I am. Back from vacation and back at work. I’m currently missing
road food, good music played loudly, and the constant companionship of
my honey. Ah well…. There’s England and Poland in May to look
forward to. Say it like a mantra.
Blade, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
Here it is… the controversial wing/blade. OK, not really controversial, I just made that up. I thought wing, and then heard windmill blade, which makes so much more sense. So here it is… one of many we saw traveling down the road.
Getting The Shot, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
I’m always grabbing the camera and shooting something. Even if it’s something that on the surface might not initially seem that interesting. What can I say… the world through a lens is fascinating to me and very different looking than the real world. I don’t see dead people… I see photographs. Everywhere.
Entering Sacramento, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
I actually have more photos to post from our trip than the ones I’m putting up here, but they will have to wait until I upload them from my computer to flickr and then to the ol’ blog. Patience, as my mom likes to say, is a virtue. Meanwhile… these are some I took on our way down to San Jose. Taken with the actual camera and not the iPhone camera. This is the hodge podge form of blogging. Spotty. Non-linear. Yeah… all of that.
College Dorm Living, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
I thought I’d blog a few more photos from our road trip to San Jose. This is one I took in our nephews dorm room. Very good of them to let you know there’s high voltage around. Safe? You be the judge.
Just a quick little post to talk about the theme change for my blog. I know some of you don’t so much like the black background with white writing, but I happen to think my photos look better on black, and I needed a change. I’ll probably leave it like this for awhile, and at some point will get restless with it and I’ll change it. Until then… please don’t let the design keep you from checking back or tuning in or reading occasionally. I kind of like the orange. It’s bold, and pretty noticeable. Great for links, etc. Thanks for being patient with my need to change the look of the place every so often. Cheers…
Trip Number Two, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
It’s a rainy San Jose day. This calls for another London Fog and
another chai…. Of course…. Why not right?
Monday Morning in San Jose, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
Monday morning in San Jose. Karen’s working today and I’m hanging out
with the fam. I made the obligatory Starbucks run earlier and while we
enjoyed our beverages we looked at lodging options for Chicago… For
the wedding don’t ya know.
Pretty mellow around here. It’s been a nice day this far.
Aftermath, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
We enjoyed a full on Thanksgiving style dinner yesterday… in March.
Very awesome. And tasty.
Working Out At Dad’s, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
It’s raining in San Jose. What have we done to entertain ourselves? We
went to Costco and Trader Joes for wine, fish, yogurt, and more wine.
We enjoyed a sandwich at Togos. Karen walked on the treadmill. We
looked at Karen’s brother and sister in law’s photos of the grandkids
and their most recent trip to France. It’s been a nice relaxing day so
far.
My aunt Syd, who’s a smart lady by the way (my mom and her siblings are all pretty intellectual… are smarties… we’re all trying to live up to them. It’s a good thing…. but I digress), suggested that what Karen and I saw driving down to San Jose might not be wings, but blades for windmills. I think she, and her fella, might be right. I stand, in all liklihood, corrected. I always try to provide the correct, as much as I know it to be, info. Thanks Syd, and Chip, for the observation. I imagine those blades were on their way to some mystery locale for attachment to an energy making windmill. Very cool.
