We went to a Portland Lumberjax game last Friday night at the Rose Garden. The LumberJax, for those who might not know, play lacrosse. Lacrosse is a game much like hockey, only there are no skates, no ice. It’s all running and running and hurling your lacrosse stick and sometimes whacking your opponents with your lacrosse stick and running and hurling the ball at a tiny net with a huge goalie guarding it and more running. Very fast. Lots of action. We went to this game not because we suddenly had the urge to learn about and watch lacrosse. No, we went because one of our good friends had the privilege of singing the National Anthem before the game. He was awesome. Getting to learn about and watch lacrosse ended up being a bonus. Who knew we’d like it? Certainly not us. But, we did.

Oh, OK… you caught me. I think they are actually called the Lumberjax Dancers or something. Personally I think my name for them is better. Either way… dig the hair action in this shot. There’s hair flying around everywhere. Impressive….

OK, I’m not really sure if this guys name is really Lumber Jack, but if it’s not, it should be. My thoughts… I want his job. Anonymous and really silly… sounds like a gig for me.

Our friend Eric sang the national anthem last Friday night at the Portland LumberJax game at the Rose Garden. He rocked it out. He was awesome. Way to go Eric!  Plus, you looked fantastic in your dress uniform.  What a stud.

Loads of action during a lacrosse game. We’d never been to one before, but we liked it. Fast paced, constant movement, and fairly high scoring. Pretty fun. I think we might just go again.
