Golf and Pears, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
While golfing we came upon a pear tree. These are some of the pears we found near the course.

I golfed one afternoon last week with friends. I have a tournament coming up this coming weekend and we needed to take some of the rust off of our game. Not sure that happened, but we had fun anyway.
Mama Mia, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
And again I’ll say… Happy Birthday to Me! I had a great day, ending with a very nice dinner at Mama Mia, downtown Portland.
Leave the Gun, Take the Cannoli, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
After enjoying a mini birthday party at our house and then walking around in the city, we went to dinner with friends on my birthday at Mama Mia. I had cannoli and an espresso for dessert. Both were good, but the cannoli… ah… really great.
Streetcar Passing, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
Sometimes we take the streetcar to get around the city, though on my birthday we used the more traditional walking method.
Walking in Portland, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
I had a wonderful birthday this year. I took the day off, Karen took the afternoon off, and we wandered the streets of Portland just hanging out, talking, and taking pictures. No better way to spend the day than with Karen and Weston.
This is Jamison Park in the Pearl District.

Karen has a great memory, especially when it comes to me saying I want this silly thing or that throughout the course of a year, or five. She remembered that I loved this TV series from the late 60′s. And here it is, the complete series on DVD for my birthday. Way cool. She is spectacular.

This, obviously, is Weston on my birthday. He was hoping to get some tasty ice cream cake. Sadly, he didn’t get any. Poor guy.
Happy Birthday to Me, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
My birthday was last week. Happy birthday to me! Anyway… I asked for only one thing… a cheesy ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. And here it is… the cheesy ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. It was good. Really good.

This one is a bit dark, but I had to include it. This is Weston at the Farmer’s Market. We’d stopped to listen to a band that was playing and this is how Weston chose to hang out and listen to the band. I think he looks pretty comfy.
Yum, Peaches., originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
We wandered over to the Orenco Station Farmer’s Market one day the weekend before last. We picked up some of these lovely peaches. They were as good as they look.
Harvest Moon, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
There was a big beautiful harvest moon the other night.
Large Ships Passing, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
Out on the river these big daddy ships pass quite frequently. It’s a bit disconcerting when they’re barreling down on you, but as long as you’re out of the channel, they won’t run over you. It just looks, sometimes, like they might.
Shady Character, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
This is one of my fishing compadres. It was a bit cold out there on the river and this is his outfit to fight against it. The thing on his face is actually supposed to be turned the other way and the holes that are on his chin are supposed to be over his eyes. We said he looked a bit like the unibomber here. Scary. In all actuality, he’s a great guy. Jim, we won’t hold your bad fashion sense against you. We still love ya man.
Morning on the Line, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
I went fishing on the Columbia a couple of days with some friends of ours. Poor Karen couldn’t go. We didn’t catch much, just a couple of sturgeon we couldn’t keep, but it was fun none the less. Talk about peaceful… no wonder so many people spend so much time out on the water. Very relaxing.

Mom and Don grow some outstanding vegetables and flowers. They have ultra green thumbs. It’s fantastic.
Enormous Chimes, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
Back at Mom and Don’s place, where we were a couple of times this month, here is a photo of the enormous chimes they have in their yard. They bought the chimes, then had to build this beautiful wood structure to hold them. Pretty cool… they rock.
Fire, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
There were hula dancers, a Hawaiian band, and this guy… he was pretty amazing, at the shindig.
Eclair Anyone?, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl.
Also taken at the fundraiser… there was a dessert auction as part of the festivities. Just so happens that a guy sitting at our table, who is also a friend of ours, ended up bidding and winning these beauties. I didn’t eat one, but they sure looked good.

We went to a fundraiser earlier in the month for a local child abuse assessment center. A great time and a great cause. The theme… Hawaiian Luau. Nice….

I have been so remiss in blogging the last couple of weeks, there is no excuse. I was trying to figure out the best way to sum up our lives over that time and I came up with what I always do… I’m going to post a smattering of photos taken during that time which will, I hope, give everyone a good idea of what we’ve been up to.
This one was taken at Mom and Don’s place a couple of weeks ago.
